John F. Callender has been a Florida Lawyer since 1976.  He has been in sole practice since 1984.  He attained the distinction of becoming a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer in 1987.  He has been admitted before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, U.S. Tax Court and all the Courts of Florida.  He is a member of the American Bar Association, Jacksonville Bar Association, Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers and Association of Trial Lawyers of America.  He is listed in the Martindale-Hubbell® Bar Register of Pre-Eminent Lawyers, which lists only those select lawyers who have earned the A-V® Rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and have therefore been designated by their colleagues as pre-eminent in their field.

John has been educated at Davidson College where he graduated cum laude, University of St. Andrews, Scotland where he was a Rotary Foundation Fellow, University of North Carolina and Duke Law School where he graduated with distinction.

John's Rotary and community involvement has been large over the years.  After being a Rotary Foundation Fellow, he has been involved in the Rotary Club of South Jacksonville since 1984.  He served on the Board of Directors 1992-97 and was Vice President, Secretary, President Elect, and President.  He served on the District Rotary Foundation Committee from 1989 and earned the District Service Above Self Award, the District Service Award, the District Governor's Citation and Rotary Foundation District Service Award. He served three years as an Assistant District Governor for District 6970.  In the community, John has been on the Board of Directors for Volunteer Jacksonville and the Mental Health Clinic of Jacksonville where he was the President in 1985.  He is a past President of the Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Association of Northeast Florida and is a former Vestryman, Vice Chancellor, and Senior Warden of his church.
